ENGINEERED ARMOR SOLUTIONS

3WEAVE® Fabric

Martin Marietta Composites TRANSONITE® panel using 3WEAVE® skins for blast protection.

Advanced Materials, Advanced Manufacturing, Advanced Protection

3TEX manufacturers three dimensional woven fabrics that are used to build superior composite armor systems.  Unlike conventional woven fabrics, 3WEAVE® has virtually no crimp. Crimp, the crossing of fibers, causes fiber damage and reduces the fabric performance. The fibers in 3WEAVE® are woven together using a "Z" yarn.

Products using 3WEAVE® include body armor inserts, armored doors, floors and panels for military vehicles and protective panels for ships.  Our mission is help our customers build state-of-the-art armor that:

  • Improves structural performance
  • Increase ballistic and blast resistance
  • Significantly reduce weight
  • Is cost competitive with metallic and laminated armor

Product Development

In addition to 3WEAVE®, 3TEX provides engineering and product development support for our customers, utilizing over 30 years of combined experience in composite armor design. 3TEX engineers can help develop products including soft and hard body armor, vehicle and ship armor and infrastructure hardening. 3TEX can also rapidly prototype composite armor for our customers in our over 50,000 square foot manufacturing area.
